INTRO
If you do one activity in Aruba, make it this one.
Pelican Adventures offers a 4-hour morning catamaran cruise that combines snorkeling, history, wildlife, food, drinks, and pure Caribbean atmosphere. All in one experience.
I joined their 8:30 AM departure, and from the moment we boarded, everything felt organized, professional, and welcoming. The crew gave a full briefing of the itinerary and what was included, which immediately set the tone.
On board, we were welcomed with coffee and light breakfast, croissants and sweet pastries, simple but perfect for a relaxed start at sea.
Stop 1 – North Aruba Snorkeling
The first stop was in the north of Aruba, in crystal-clear turquoise water. We had free time to swim and snorkel among colorful tropical fish.
Masks and fins were provided for everyone, and for experienced guests, two oxygen tanks were available for deeper dives. The water was calm, visibility was excellent, and it felt effortless.
Stop 2 – The Antilla Shipwreck
The second stop was at the Antilla shipwreck, the most famous wreck in Aruba.
The Antilla was a German cargo ship from World War II, intentionally sunk in May 1940 to avoid capture by Dutch forces. Today, it’s one of the largest shipwrecks in the Caribbean.
Snorkeling above something with that much history beneath you adds a completely different dimension to the experience.
Where the sea becomes the experience
Stop 3 – Sea Turtles & Lunch
On the return, we stopped again in bright turquoise water where sea turtles swim.
This final stop combined snorkeling with lunch and cold cocktails on board. Music playing, relaxed atmosphere, and a crew that truly knows how to create energy without making it feel forced.
